What is Almadira?
In Romagna, it is called almadira — what remains on the beach after the sea has receded. Small pieces of wood, shells, wet sand, salty air. It is something you cannot see, but it stays with you, in your soul. A mark. A memory. A caress that smells of freedom.
Formula rediscovered, Rimini 1961.
A suitcase, a notebook, a few 30 ml bottles. We didn't create this perfume. We found it. Among the worn pages of an old notebook forgotten in a suitcase. There were handwritten notes, scattered jottings, memories, and a few formulas with perfume notes, all linked to the Riviera. We chose one note in particular:
“Fresh and floral notes, salt on the skin. Like the sunset that envelops you after a day on the Riviera. Don't change a thing.”
Next to it were some 30 ml dark glass bottles. Essential. To carry with you like a memory. The bottle is still black today, just as we found it. We have only modernized it, lightening its lines. But we have remained faithful to what we saw. We added a wooden cap to recall the almadira that leaves the sea. Today, Almadira is only available in a 30 ml format. As if it were still hidden in that suitcase.
